have anxiety with lots of energy/motivation but too nervous to talk to ppl or feel relaxed...
i started at .5 klonopin per day.
Advantages:
gold standard for anxiety, tried all other meds for it except triciclics and MAOI's and all were inferior.
no sexual side effects what so ever
maybe slight sedation for first weeks
feel calm and smooth, more productiveDisadvantages:
tolerance develops so now i take 5 mg per day...
however, i have not found any probs tapering off except return to the horibble anxiety experienced before, also was able to taper down to zero in
a week from 5 mg (your results may vary)
memory is affected somewhat but not in a bad way i would say, another way to look at it would be: maybe highly anxious ppl actually are too aware (memorize aspects of surroundings, life, social interaction) in order to feel "safer" since they are anxious. when you take konopin = no anxiety = so no need to be over aware... but if you ar trying to build a rocket ship or write your phd thesis on calculus and mathematics i would suggest lowering dose since it wil somewhat dull the ability to think at the edge of abstractness and logic for ppl who are able to do that in the first place. but then again only 2% of ppl are that smart so i would not worry about it. it's kinda like having 2 beers...you can think logically, but would you really wanna take you math final like that? prob not, but if you were giving the biggest speech of your career it would be a definite advantage...get my drift?good luck
