This is just my experience but I used to take speed occasionally and certainly it does give a feeling that you are in control and confident and sorted. BUT its just a drug effect. From the accounts of people around me although to me I thought I was intelligent and articulate whilst on speed to them I was babbling nonsense. In comparison whilst on antipsychotics I often think I am dull and quiet unyet the same people think I am pleasant, interesting and tolerable. I guess I am saying that the way we feel about ourselves on a drug and the way we are perceived can be very different, I would also say (as I tried to in my last post) that antipsychotics are very varied and just because one is intolerable doesnt mean all will be.
