I asked my doctor about this when I was taking it. He said that when it prescribed for depression-only, it was a very, very, very high dose. I can't remember the dosage but the difference between a dose for depression and a dose for insomnia was astronomical.

I took it for insomnia and it was very hard to wake up the next day. There was no AD benefit for me --- at all.
