I've been taking a low dose of Keppra (500-750mg daily) for about 7 months now. The first dose I took, I was a little tired. But after a couple of days, it was definitely a brightener.

I've tried adding Lamictal, which I just quit yesterday because of cognitive issues, so no, it doesn't offset cognitive impairment brought on by Lamictal, Topamax, etc.

I think Lamictal causes cognitive impairment (even though it claims not to) and it's scary because for me it got worse over time than better. If I could afford to be brain dead and didn't have to work, Lamictal might be a good choice. I never realized how much it's smoothered my drive and ambition until I stopped it, and am thankful I did.

Back to Keppra, I like it because it helps cover up anxiety, but doesn't make me foggy.
