Entacapone (Comtess/Comtan) for depression

Posted by ed_uk on December 6, 2004, at 10:13:21

Hello,

Has anyone tried entacapone for depression, either alone or in combination with other medication?

Oh, and if anyone is interested, tolcapone (another COMT inhibitor) is once again available in the UK for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. It was withdrawn from the market several years ago due to reports of hepatic injury. It has been re-introduced because it is more effective than entacapone. It will be sold under the trade name Tasmar.

Regards,
Ed.
