Has your son tried Anafranil? It's an older tricyclic antidepressant, and considered the first-line med for OCD [if in fact that's what he has. I'm no psychologist, but racing thoughts, even if obsessional, could be mania, or some other disorder.]

Anyway, I believe Anafranil is supposed to be good for pediatric OCD. I took it for a while, and was not crazy about it, but a lot of people have been helped by it. Best of luck.
