Hello,

I strongly believe that you should stop taking the Wellbutrin because your symptoms suggest that you are allergic to it. You need to consult your doctor. Itching and urticaria (hives) are relatively common side effects of bupropion but serious skin reactions can also occur. The swelling of your hands may be a form of angioedema.

I am not a doctor but if I was in your position I wouldn't take any more doses of Wellbutrin. Your symptoms should resolve soon after you have stopped the medication. I'm sure your doctor would be willing to prescribe a different drug instead. Someone on psycho-babble recently reported that their symptoms improved when they transferred to a different preparation which also contained bupropion. Even so, the safest thing to do would be to stop the medication.

All the best..
Ed.

PS. You sound worried, please make an appointment to see your doctor/GP/pdoc.
