In reply to more depressed on SSRI?, posted by Emme on November 21, 2004, at 13:36:10

Hi emme,

I have just came off of escitalopram after taking it for almost two weeks. I have taken all of the available SSRI's and I have never had a reaction like the one I have had to escitalopram. Spaced out, feeling like I could cry one minute and laugh the next, and generally just not with it. I suspect the drug is the cause as I am feeling much better now that it is out of my system.

If you are not feeling better after having taken it for at least a fortnight then I would recommend going back to your doctor and requesting a change.

Regards

James
