Effexor effecting labido in females?

Posted by Kimbersaur on November 14, 2004, at 16:19:11

I've been on Effexor for about 2 years in addition to other meds for the treatment of Bipolar and OCD. Currently I am on Effexor, Lamictal, Seroquel, and Yasmin (birth control).

So...I wasn't very sexually active until recently. I haven't ever had an orgasm, which is wierd, because I can be intensely aroused (i.e. pillow-clenching, screaming aroused) for at least 30 minutes with constant stimulation (from my boyfriend) yet never reach orgasm. I am pretty sure that the if the majority of females were stimulated the way I have been, they would be off the wall with orgasms. (This is beginning to sound wierd, but I'm trying to keep it "appropriate.") My boyfriend is kind of frustrated that he can't give me an orgasm, but very understanding. I mean, he isn't feeling all inadequate or anything. Anyway, I (we)am wondering if this could have something to do with Effexor and if anyone has any experience or input they could share with me.

I have been looking at messages regarding Effexor's side effects with labido, but havent really found anything on labido from a female perspective. I'm not sure Effexor is the cause of this, but some of these messages are beginning to sound familiar.
