Cymbalta=hungry? Comments please!

Posted by hope4best on November 7, 2004, at 6:37:53

Hi all, quick background: I have been on 60 mg Cymbalta for 3 weeks today. My experience has been positive, as I have been feeling much less depressed and much more energetic and calm. I have been very productive for the past 2 weeks, cleaned out my closets, basement, car--things I had neglected for--well, forever! Sexual side effects appear to be decreasing as libido is getting stronger every day. Anorgasma is still a problem, although I had one sucessful experience this week which gives me hope! The one thing I have noticed is I have become very hungry the past 3 days--the kind of hungry where you eat but still feel "empty" immediately after eating. I feel like I can't get full. My stomach actually growls even after I eat something that in the past would have filled me up. I remember complaining that I couldn't get full when I was on Lexapro about a year and a half ago. I felt WONDERFUL on Lexapro as an antidepressant, but the excessive hunger and subsequent eating was making me gain weight so I didn't want to stay on it. I was literally waking up in the middle of the night to eat on Lexapro. Now, suddenly, I feel the same hunger. Is it the Cymbalta? Anyone else experience this on Cymbalta? Or any other med? Will this go away in time? I discontinued Remeron in September after gaining 30 pounds, so obviously this hunger thing has me concerned. Please share your experiences. Thanks.
