Why would amphetamines (which also release the bad norepinephrine in addition to dopamine) help with social phobia but selegeline (which exclusively increases dopamine) cause anxiety/social phobia?

But, when I was in college on Zoloft 100 mgs I almost failed myself out of school because SSRIs seem to diminish your short term memory (& after a few months I became manic) & since my job is intellectually demanding, taking a dumb drug could get me fired.

Increasing Dopamine alone is probably just as much doomed as raising Serotonin alone like SSRI's do. I would try increasing your Selegiline doseage until it becomes a non-selective MAOI like Parnate. Of course you will have to observe the normal MAOI diet & drug restrictions.

Cheers,
Paul.
