Well, I had been taking Lexapro for about a year before I started Cymbalta and it had basically ceased to work, and was sending me spiraling downward. So I started the Cymbalta and initially had very little improvement, I actually went in reverse a little because I started having crying spells which I never had on Lexapro because I was completely numb and felt nothing but rage and anger.

Anyway, after 2 months with the Cymbalta I am feeling happier, not ALL the time but at least a few days a week, I'm able to laugh and smile again. Also I don't wait until the middle of the night to do my shopping anymore because I'm not as afraid of being in a crowded place. I have regained some of my self esteem, I no longer feel incompetant at everything I do.

I still have days when I feel down, and have spells of anxiety, but I think with more time that this will too get better, but a few good days a week is better than none at all.

I have had no negative side effects, other than the initial crying spells, which I attribute to stopping the Lexapro (I didn't taper off of it, just stopped it one day and started Cymbalta the next)
