physiological stress, AP's, and weight gain

Posted by lostforwards on October 26, 2004, at 19:35:13

I'm just making some guesses from some of what I've experienced. Please correct me or make it more clear. I hope it doesn't sound too crazy or naive.

While I was on Respirdal I started to gain weight, and I was also became aggressive when I was provoked. Another weird thing was my attention was really focused. I can't really explain this one but here it is: I didn't "feel" as much when I listened to music but I could really pick out lyrics. When I brought the dose down, my weight quickly came off, and I lost the edge of aggresiveness I had on it. It was like I was in a very sympathomimetic state.

After being off I had a variety of symptoms - dry mouth, and bizzare problems like feeling like my body wanted to go one way or the other.
( it's taking weeks for me to recover )

Would lowered levels of acetylcholine and dopamine have put me in that state? Could that explain a slow recovery from the med?
