Klonopin really has saved my life ... without it, I would be curled up in a ball having panic attacks daily. But I wonder if it contributes to my depression ... and if Neurontin would be better (maybe help with my mild hypomanias too). What is you take on Klonopin vs. Neurontin? (I am currently on zoloft 75, lithium 450, klonopin 1.5 and coffee for energy)

I've found that adding more Klonopin only helps in a real acute 'crisis' situation (external stressors directly impacting your present mood short term-stopping a panic). I don't like to take clonazepam in the daytime at all if I can avoid it. I've found it tends to make me negatively disinhibited (kind of like PTSD folks can get-needlessly mean with others). Neurontin never made me *negatively* disinhibited or dysphoric. I just had some weird side effects from it that is unique to me and that's why I don't take it. Otherwise, I would find Depakote+Neurontin to be a good combo. I *have* found Neurontin to trigger some slight *euphoric* hypomanic symptoms, but those never proved troublesome.
