Cymbalta Sexual S/Es: Report; Do they go away?

Posted by cache-monkey on October 2, 2004, at 14:18:56

Hey folks,

I started Cymbalta 11 days ago: 15 mg for 3 days; 30 mg since.

I seem to be mostly out of the start-up anxiety and sweating, although both still happen for about an hour or two after each pill.

But, the sexual side effects have begun. I'm a male and I've experienced problems mostly with "getting it up" rather than anorgasmia. Not to get too graphic, but it really feels like my prostate is somehow pinched or cramping. Really weird. I think I went through the same thing, albeit more complete with anorgasmia, on Celexa.

It's annoying, to say the least. But not a deal-breaker for me just yet; I think I'm actually responding and want to give it a little longer to find out. Anyway, I figured people would probably want to know about it.

I do seem to recall, though, from recent posts on Cymbalta that some people initially experienced some sexual side effects, but they then went away. Can anybody confirm this?

peace,
cache-monkey
