I also have had high blood pressure on Effexor XR at 75 mg/day. But I did have a bit of this problem before I started to take ADs. I have been monitoring it with my own store-bought blood pressure machine since May and just yesterday my doctor decided to treat me for it. I have consistant readings of 145/95, which is strange because I am only 24 and not overwieght or under any undo stress. He prescibed an ace inhibitor for me at a low dose (vasotec). If you are concerned, you should buy a machine yourself from the drug store (cheapest one was about $40). That way you can take your BP anytime not just at a doctor's office or grocery store.
