Hi again:
If you're dissociative, then Klonopin may well work. I had a lot of de-realization/dissociation with my version of GAD. It can be an anxiety reaction, rather than a psychotic one. I, too could not make my mind focus during these "attacks" and I can't retrieve words etc. It's pretty much an adrenalin response. The Klonopin has worked wonders for that. I rarely get those any more, and it's usually as a result of extra stress.......when I'm s'posed to take more Klon.!
As, I said before tho' - no effect on the racing thoughts.
I can understand your reluctance to try anti-psychotics - that would scare me too. They can be awesome for ppl tho'. Klonopin is an easy drug to try for a short term, in terms of side effects and withdrawal ( as long as stopping is done carefully under Dr. supervision).
Take care, I hope you find the answer.
