RE: I went to the doctor today to get some answers on why he told me to taper so quick.. he said that he did that because i was to start paxil after the 5 day period... but i dont want to anymore.. i want to see where i am now. And if i stand corrrect that i dont have a chemically imbalanced depression... we'll see.. do you think he still should have tapered me slower? I think i do.. but Im no doc
> Because of Effexor's short half-life, you may need to taper for a longer period of time. I'd suggest at least 3 weeks on each lower dosage to eliminate most of the withdrawal symptoms you are experiencing. Best wishes!
