If you were feeling fine before you drank and saw your old girlfriend, then I would continue with Prozac. You already know that alcohol is a no-no when taking an AD, so why take a chance of sabotaging the positive effects of Prozac. I took Prozac for over 7 years and it was the very first AD prescribed for my unipolar depression. Prozac saved my life. I am currently taking Lexapro as Prozac pooped out after 7 years of excellent results. I was actually taking 100mg of Prozac which is 20mg over the recommended max dose. Hang in there and stay away from alcohol if you want to continue to reap the benefits of Prozac. Good luck to you.

> I have been on prozac 40mg for almost 2 months.Since yesterday i have been feeling severely depressed.I know its because i drank 4 days out of last week. The last day being Friday.I also think its because i saw my x-girlfriend and some old feelings returned. My concern is i start school next monday and i want to be back to my oldself.i guess i am just looking for some encouragement.I quit drinking because i know alcohol is a depressant and is not making things any better.
