It's ironic my doctor and I spoke about this early this morning.
Wellbutrin's immediate effects are on the physilogical spectrum meaning your heartrate increases and one feels the speeded effect. If your a male I believe it's the heartrate increase that is helping you out. Wellbutrin increases my HR by about 20 beats per minute. It also allows me to work out harder. Without the wellbutrin I can raise my HR to about 125. With the wellbutrin I can raise my HR to 170. This increase is the diference of me working out 20 minutes reaching 125 and getting tired verse 1 to 2 hours full of energy reaching 170.
When the human body is under stress it "Fight's, Flight's or Freezes". During these 3 incidences your heart rate and breathing increases. Your body limbs need more oxygen hence your heat pumps more oxygen through out your body.
The anti depressant effects of wellbutrin require a much longer time to take effect due to a longer halflife.
I did not notice if you are a male or female. Viagra also feels like it speeds up the heart but it does more then that in the male. It manipulates some valve that controls blood flow.
From my experience taking Wellbutrin everyday, I can skip a couple days and I still feel the "up" feeling. It makes no difference when I take it. If you forced me to admit I feel a difference I might say if I take it at night I have a more difficult time sleeping. Hence more "up" effect.
Personally I don't think you would notice a difference.
If you like the longer halflife of wellbutrin and if you like it's appitite curbing propertys; obvioulsy stay with it.
If you desire a similar effect that only last for 8 hours without the appitite curbing try 100 mg of the viagra.
