Hi there,

I had been taking 2 mg of Klonopin at night for the past month which worked like a charm until about a week ago. I would wake up at 4am, eyes wide open, and couldn't fall back to sleep. I called my pdoc yesterday and he prescibed 3 mg of xanax xr for me to take. I took my first dose last night and am happy to report that I slept through the night without any awakening. On the downside, I woke up very groggy, slightly depressed, but no anxiety. It is now 1pm and still feel less anxious than I normally do around this time. I think I may have to back down to 2 mg tonight and see what happens.

My question to anyone out there....is xanax xr known to induce depression??

Thanks,

Nicole
