Trileptal only at night???

I am on prozac 20 mg a day, and just starting trileptal after trying other mood stabalizers. These all make me very tired and I can only take them before bed. Since the half life of trileptal is only around 12 hrs or so, what happens if I only take it at night? I notice a difference on only a very small dosage of any stabilizer, so would not go higher than 300 mg or so at night. Would there be enough in my system the second twleve hours to be stable, or would I go into mania or something? Any help is appreciated.
