Well there's the Well known BuSpar, but thats not really a drug class, just one drug.
Here's the Chronological List of Substances used
1) Alchohol
2) Opiates
3) Chloral Hydrate
4) Barbiturates
5) Benzodiazepines
6) Who Knows
This century should come out with a new class by 2099, or we are really behind. Maybe have some auto-stablizing drug without any sedating effects to keep down abuse, may come, or maybe drugs will be obsolete.
Just something to think about.
