You can do it, but Wyeth say not to. They also say you can sprinkle it on to apple sauce & take it like that, so I guess spliting up a capsule just means that you can't guarantee what doseage you are taking.

If you are down to 37.5mg doses, you are probably better off using some Prozac to cover the Effexor withdrawl problems.
