Hi tripp, Naltrexone is an 0piate antagonist.
It would be especially helpful if you were still in the throes of addiction. It is quite the contrary ...not an "addictive agent". It was very helpful in my cessation of quiting booze- it blocks the 'high' from things that we humans like to and tend to abuse. I don't really see how it would be addictive at all. You *cant* abuse anti-abuse drugs! My guess is that your doc. may be using it in attempt to help you quit using food as a drug--- just my thoughts though!
