well, opinionated and in-the-know about some things! thanks for the compliment....as for BDNF, i have encountered it in an indirect way in research with nicotine...which is a therapeutic for (among others) parkinson's disease....BDNF - i have a few citations, not many - is, as far as i know, implicated in formation/upkeep of several classes of receptors, including dopamine and serotonin ones....i do know that decreased BDNF is associated with huntington's disease (another nicotine target, and another neurodegenerative one) in patients.....all in all, from what i know, BDNF is important first and foremost as a neuroprotective and is implicated in anxiety, my guess would be that BDNF is involved with GABA receptors as well as serotonin and dopamine....but it is only my conjecture....as for a key-nutrient, i don't think so, stem cell delivery to modify the BDNF gene might work, but i am out on a limb there (i know very little about stem cell therapy)...sorry for the empty answer, but it's the best i can do for now....i will ask around and report if any of my better-educated colleagues can shed some light in re: nutritional enhancement...all the best, chemist
