From Dexedrine to Strattera: Shifting Gears?

Posted by sgoose on April 26, 2004, at 23:31:07

I'm being weaned off of Dexedrine, was at 15mg tid (been told this is a high dosage but doesn't feel like it) and starting Strattera at 40mg and jumping to 80 after 4 days of 40. I also take Klonopin .5mg bid. This Strattera thing happened after an ineffective Wellbutrin trial. I'm dealing with psychiatric nurses BTW.. Today was the first day of Strattera..didn't notice too much of anything, except taking a nice nap.

I feel like more Dex. is the answer for my ADD and my Dep. but apparently I am at such a high dose? Out of curiosity, are we adults dealing with children's doses of stims because of a lack of research/red tape on the Adult ADD front? How in the world am I going to convince these nurses that I probably just need more Dex and more Klonopin?? I'm dreaming now.....
