Wynterhaven, you do sound pissed. Just like I am about the lack of response of these stupid psych meds. Sorry about the Ins. situation. It is a sad commentary on the lack of quality one can get in the medical system. Especially the managed care plans. It sounds like the pdoc in the hospital may have been more on track than your present one, he may have well been on track in his reasoning in Rx'ing you the med combo he did in the hosp. It may have been helpful for you , too bad your current doc sounds like he's just fresh out of med/psych school (opinion?) and he's not willing to experiment and appropriately weigh the risk/reward/ratio and give you some much needed relief. I wish I knew what to tell you! I guess I can say this , if you have PTSD and associated disorders, bad enough, you might want to consider searching out another doc , even if it does mean puttting out some of your own $$$. I mean c'mon a veteranarian can prescribe a benzo like ativan!! He sounds like he thinks he is doing you a favor!
Some times the wrong treatment can be the worst treatment!! If you really are that Incapacitated....I would def. search out other options. Good Luck
