Effexor dosages and SSRI vs. SSNRI effects

Posted by zefdie on March 23, 2004, at 10:57:15

The evil pdoc who saw me, took my money, and then wouldn't take me on as a patient said that Effexor affects the brain like an SSRI at lower dosages and that the norepinephrine reuptake inhibition doesn't kick in until the patient reaches a higher dose. Does anyone know specifics about this? I've been on Effexor XR 75 mg for about five days now, thanks to a lot of research and a helpful GP. So far I'm fatigued as hell and feel a little apathetic. I'm also STARVING. It beats how I was feeling before, though.
