> hey everyone, i need some advice re: sleeping meds. i've had problems sleeping for over a year now, and i think i've tried most of the possible solutions out there. my pdoc and i are at a loss as to what to try now. last year, i took trazodone, which worked ok, but it left me with a hangover the next day. zyprexa has put me to sleep well, but it also leaves me really sleepy the next day. i was on klonopin + ambien for months and it worked great! i wish i could still be on it, but the ambien started to make me hallucinate, so i'm not supposed to take it anymore. i tried sonata, but it didn't do much for me at all. i just tried a trial of restoril, and it would take me over an hour to fall asleep, and i had trouble waking up. i also take 1mg of haldol at night, no matter what else i'm taking. any suggestions? my pdoc won't prescribe barbiturates or halcion, but i think he's pretty open to anything else. are there any other meds/combinations that i'm missing that have helped other people? thanks so much!!!

I would try Doxepin, Trimipramine or Remeron. Start with 20mg of Doxepin or Trimipramine, or 15mg of Remeron. 7.5 mg of Remeron may even be enough for a good nights sleep.

Cheers,
Panda.
