She (the shot that is) helped me out a lot at first. I didn't gain any weight or become depressed and with the added bonus of no menstration... What more could a girl ask for? Well, how about depression! Yes, she stung like a needle (pardon the pun). I'm dx Bipolar anyway and the shot didn't help me much. I was on her for 2 years and became depressed about 8 months after I started DP. And I usually don't have a problem with depression from birth control of any sort. But, after getting the shot for 2 years, I was depressed for a period of 2 years as well. Coincidence? I thought so too. Stupid me, eh? After I quit, the depression followed for about 9 months until I moved to a different town and started school again. (Why am I telling you the story of my life, huh?) Anyway, long story short, I doubt that my long-term depression with manias that were only induced by AD's were just caused by BD. I'm certain that little prick in the hip had something to do with it as well. However, I was considering going back on. Thanks for the thread to help refresh my memory! Why not try the patch, or Ortho Tri Cyclen? Ortho didn't cause any problems for me, but I heard the patch causes acne. I do warn you to stay away from demulin 1/50. Too much estrogen is not a good thing.....
