Plz Help!
I have been diagnosed by two psychiatrists with Complex Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and am in therapy twice a week. Three years ago, i had a "breakdown" i guess in which i was panicking 24/7. I was put on Paxil and Imovane. I've been taking both nightly for over three years. Last year i started seeing a new therapist and he wanted to get me off the imovane and start me on Seroquel. So i tried it for a week.
I WENT FREAKIN CRAZY!!
The Seroquel knocked me out all right, but half way through the night i would wake up anxious and unable to sleep. I could hardly function during the day because i was so spaced out. I would have serious anxious episodes and restless irritation.
I started to take the imovane with the Seroquel and that seemed to make things all right except i was pretty spacey, but i was sleeping.
Then my psych told me he wasn't going to prescribe imovane anymore. I totally freaked out. I know that after 3yrs. i'm seriously addicted to the stuff. Now i get it at the clinic.
Anyways, i came off the Seroquel three weeks ago, and since i stopped i've been so damn itchy all over my body. It's insane! My therapist said oh if you get itchy you have to stop taking it, but the itchiness started after i stopped. She said some of the side effects can come when you stop. REALLY? uh ok.
I have no allergies to anything, and for three weeks i've been so itchy everywhere that i can't sleep at all, even with the imovane.
Nobody seems to have any answers.
If anyone has any advice plz plz plz help!
I would also like to get off the imovane without completely losing it like i did when i quit cold turkey and weaning off is torture.
