the effects of beer/alcohol, equivalent medicine?

Posted by Franz on March 6, 2004, at 12:30:45

Hi,

I had a beer the other night and felt good, calm and somewhat uninhibited, I could even type faster.

What does this mean in terms of possible drugs that could be good for the same effect?.

I understand alcohol works on GABA but also on dopamine (which are compromised in social phobia I think). Can this be the reason for the effect I felt?

Maybe the hops also contributed?.

I remember a poster here with the nick: 3 beer effect

I agree the effect is good, but is there any way to obtain the same from a medicine and not alcohol?.

thanks
