My daughter works for a center with handicapped kids (epileptics, fragile X syndrom, autistic, downs syndrome, etc).
Those kids who have seizures (epileptic, and some other types according to their diagnosis) have symptoms like you described. They would be in a "daze" almost paralysed, scared looking, then shake when coming out of it. The staff is taught to hold them (so they don't hurt themselves by hitting their head, or whatever) until the seizure is under control. They are on various medicines depending on their diagnosis.
They are often very tired after it is over.
I pray you will find a diagnosis and the right therapy and/or meds.
This has got to be scary for you, but as a Mom, you just have to hang in there till it's fixed or at least under control.
