I have been on AD's for over 12 years. I am currently in the process of maybe switching AD's. I have been on prozac, remeron, lamictal, paxil, celexa, effexor, zoloft, elavil and desipramine. Because of the "poop out" factor, every couple of years, I had to switch to another AD's. As far as reaching "optimal" treatment, I have yet to experience it.
