I don't doubt that the manufacturer played down withdrawal effects, but I do agree with Action that the lawyers seem to be the culprits in so many lawsuits. The losers are people who take Effexor since any money paid in a lawsuit will simply be passed on to people who need drugs from the manufacturer.

A knowledgable doctor will know that prescribing Prozac (with it's long halflife) during Effexor withdrawal will make the withdrawal more bearable. I have never taken Effexor, but I know from reading many many posts over the years that it is a very effective and very safe drug.
