My doctor prescribed ritalin for the exact same purpose, to augment Celexa.

It works well. I may/may not make you jittery.

MAOI's increase the three monoamines serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine. Your doctor is attempting to replicate the same effects. Lexapro is selective to serotonin, while ritalin is fairly selective to norepinephrine and dopamine.
