Klonopin users, please respond...

Posted by Adam33 on January 22, 2004, at 23:03:27

Well I have been taking Klonopin (for performance anxiety) for a little while now and really like it. (On a side note however, my Doc is also starting me on Lexapro to see if that works better for the SA and b/c I have minor OCD. I am skeptical whether it will though from reading posts on this forum).

Anyway, as I expected I feel a bit tired while on the Klonopin (especially if taken with propranolol which I do only before big events). As far as the Klonopin, I currently take .75-1mg in the morning and .5mg in the late afternoon, and this fits my anxiety pretty well. I know that a feeling of sedation is quite normal while on Klonopin (and that this may very well go away in time) but I am also having a tough time concentrating. This may be b/c of the sedation (not sure?) but this poses a problem for me because I am in classes right now and am having trouble following my professors. (Note however, I don't think that I have ADD since I usually can concentrate). Also, it's not that I feel dumbed up, just unable to concentrate.

I have read about a lot of people who take Adderoll or Ritalin with Klonopin, but is that only for people with ADD?? Would either of those help me with the sedation and inability to concentrate if these things don't go away soon. Or...any other suggestions for what to combine with the Klonopin.

Thanks for any advice!
