The sleepiness from taking Effexor in the morning go away with time. Ten days is not enough time, nor is it enough time to get your doseage leveled out to where it should be. Nearly all sources recommend tqaking Effexor XR in the morning.

Trazadone may help, though it did nothing for me. Neither did Seroquel. The only thing that knocked me out was Ativan (lorazapam), but that's habit-forming, so you can't use it for a protravcted period of time.

My PDoc has me on Remeron at bedtime now and it really helps me to sleep better. It also is a med in the same class as Effexor, so the two work well together.

Good Luck!
