Hey man,
It's weird, I wouldn't say a "strong" AD effect...but when all the noise and negative B.S. in your head stops, so does the accompanying anxiety, which leads to depression...I was taking Effexor but it was...not really pooping out, but it just wasn't dealing with the anxiety or the obsessive negative thoughts that I would dwell on...which lead to social anxiety...sort of a vicious cycle. The first Geodon pill I took I felt very silly happy...hard to explain...the next few pills...I am not kidding...just wiped out all of the noise in my head...I swear to god...I felt calm and normal...I felt like I was really safe and grounded and one mellow happy camper...I have finally gotten off the Effexor and now I am just taking Geodon...digging it to say the least. I take 20mg at lunch time. This med has a very short half life (6.5 hours) so you can definitely feel it wearing off...I get a little anxious or irritable when it starts to wear off...at this point I hit the gym or I take a walk. There are so many pdocs that go crazy with the doses...I like to start off at the bare minimum and then increase if absolutely necessary. Could I take another pill, yeah. But if a walk will augment the meds then I prefer that solution. If they had a 10 mg pill I would take one in the am and one in the pm. Also, you must take this med with food or a huge glass of milk...it won't absorb if you don't...learned the hard way...took it on an empty stomach and it didn't do jack. Hope this helps.
