Efexor and Divorce

Posted by James Dubin on December 30, 2003, at 17:38:21

Greetings from a newbee. My soon to be ex-wife had a bout with depression. It lasted for about 4 to 4 1/2 years. It was pretty rough times for the both of us. Her boss gave her some Efexor. Shortly there after she was pre-scribed by her doctor. She suddenly stopped crying everyday after work and did not get upset about not fitting in old clothing anymore. It was a new beggining after a long storm. After she was on the drug for about 6 months she turned her brother on to Efexor. And about a year ago she mentioned divorce. Quite a shock to me. Over this period there has been a noticable bi-polar condition which shifted from Sad, egotistical and normal personalities. I was told in January 2003 that if I did not want to move into the city she'd want divorce now. Well we took out a second mtg to fix up the first home and then used it to buy the second home. Shortly after closing she filed divorce anyway. It was a big scam. I dont really aprove the use of this med since it solves one problem while creating another. I went on Efexor when I did'nt really need to but have dwindled down the dose and now have not had it for 6 days as of 12/30/03. I'm experiencing jolts of energy down my spine and dizzyness. As of her brother. He told me just last night he's sorry he has even started taking the drug. Now this whole mess is going to court since I contested it at the last minute. There is a long paper trail of deception and manipulation which the judge is going to see clearly and this is one of the many problems this woman is not going to be able to run away from now whether she's on the Efexor or not. Not only that but after my experience with coming off this drug I wish the best for anybody who starts withdrawling. Lastly I'd like to stress the importance that these kind of drugs should be studied far longer before they are readily availble to people whether it comes from thier doctor, boss or family member respectively.

James
