I'm taking 300mg Effexor/day for past 2 years and have had joint pain ever since, mostly in my fingers, elbows, ankles and toes. I've always wondered if the Effexor was causing this.

Yes, I definately think some of your health problems could be stress related. Ever tried meditation and deep breathing excersises, acupuncture, biofeedback, cognitive behavioral therapy? These all might be useful alternatives to the Effexor.

A very, very, slow withdrawal from Effexor is highly recommended. I've never come off Effexor, but did come off Paxil, and it was hellish. I used a lot of Klonopin to get through the tough times.

As for your doc being predisposed to your "stress-related" diagnoses, you might just want to get another opinion...to make a fresh start. Just a thought.

Hope this helps a little!
