SSRIs like Prozac cause ultra-rapid cycling for me, and I don't even have a bipolar diagnosis. Zoloft was the worst. My pdoc simply recommends that I avoid these meds, and says they aren't for everyone. A fair number of people react badly, and whether it signifies bipolarity doesn't seem at all clear.
BTW, Wellbutrin caused severe anxiety and very strange side effects for me too, and definitely is something to be careful with.
