Artane is an anticholinergic med. It treats symptoms of parkinsonism such as muscle stiffness, shuffling gait, and tremor. I take Cogentin, which is in the same class of meds.
I have read that unexpectedly severe side effects from antipsychotic meds sometimes indicates a neurological or medical problem. I highly recommend a thorough neurological evaluation, especially if someone gets severe side effects from the meds.
