You probably already know this, but Triavil is a combo of Trilafon (an a-p) and Elavil (an a-d).

Years ago, I was on both those meds separately and asked my pdoc at the time why she didn't just prescribe Triavil, the combo of the two. She said that Triavil comes in set doses of each component, but if you take the two parts individually you can vary and play around with each one's doses. Worked for me at the time.
