> Does anyone know a potent dopamine reuptake inhibitor, besides wellbutrin thats on the market today. I'm looking for a fairly strong one too, becuase im withdrawing from meth(dont get started on that stuff). Cocaine is a strong one but unfortunaly it's illegal and it wouldnt be a very good treatment for meth either. Thanks for any information.
IIRC Wellbutrin's reuptake inhibition of dopamine and norepinepherine are extremely weak at therapeutic doseage. It is believed that Wellbutrin's efficacy is achieved through an as yet undiscovered mechanism.
The only strong dopamine reuptake inhibitors I am aware of are the psychostimulants which also tend to excite strong dopamine release. Catch-22.
Coming off of a meth habit, it is possible your stores of dopamine have been depleted. Taking L-tyrosine, vitamins B6 and C may help you "stock back up" so to speak.
