Hmmm...maybe I, too, have "non-shouting bipolar". I don't tend to take my mania out violently or loudly on others...although I'm pretty sure my girlfriend would beg to differ if I tried to claim I keep it to myself. Your description of the constant internal running commentary is quite familiar. I've also managed to avoid some of the more dramatic bipolar outcomes (like suicide attempts or the hospital). If you ignore that I tend to stay "out of trouble" (and not shout) my cycling is pretty classic and debilitating, requiring quite the med coctail. I've been working hard at reducing the med load and am now just on Tegretol, Lamictal and Klonopin with marginal success.
