Effexor to Zoloft: how low do I have to go?

Posted by Louisa on October 5, 2003, at 13:57:48

I'm tapering off Effexor to start Zoloft. I'm down to 37.5 mg every 36 hours, but trying to go down to 37.5 mg every two days is killing me! the side effects are hell (drenchnig night sweats, electric shocks, compulsive itching, not sleeping...) Not to mention the fact that I'm getting depressed, too.

Do I really have to get all the way off the Effexor before starting the Zoloft? Will the Zoloft help with the Effexor withdrawal symptoms? Could I maybe start taking the Zoloft now-ish, and then keep trying to go further down on the Effexor?

Thanks for your help,

Louisa
