When you say that you did not sustain good results from your previous drugs, the first thing that comes to my mind is that you may have been discontinued before reaching a high enough dose.

For example, when I was on Celexa, I first did good with 20 mg. Then I needed 40. Then I needed 60. I did very well at 60 eventhough it's higher than a lot of doctors will go.

I switched to the newer, pure pure version of Celexa (Lexapro) when it came out last year. I started on 20 mg (a high dose) and have never needed to raise the dose.

If a medicine works well at a given dose, then the effect fades over time, a larger dose is probably the best solution. Unfortunately, some docs choose to switch drugs rather than increase doses.

> i have gone through paxil, zoloft, effexor, remeron, wellbutrin, dexedrine, provigil, nuerontin, all with varying degrees of success - but none consistent and sustaining. my pdoc is recommending me to now try either lexapro or parnate. he thinks with my history that parnate might have a better chance of success. any thoughts on this would be welcome.
