switching back to zoloft after effexor

Posted by Emmy333 on September 10, 2003, at 14:57:28

i was prescribed zoloft about a year ago and only stayed on it for a couple of weeks b/c of the side effects--but i did feel that it helped me for a short time. now i have been on effexor 75mg. for nearly 6 weeks--which is the longest i've ever tried w/ a prescription. the only problem is, i am not feeling better at all--in fact, i feel worse if anything--numb, emotionless, lack of energy, etc. so i am thinking about switching back to the zoloft. i heard that low dose of zoloft is for depression and high dose is for anxiety. i just really hope that weaning myself off of the effexor isn't as much of a battle story as i have read on this board. any advice ??
